41. Through My Eyes (Bridges)

Ruby Bridges recounts the story of her involvement, as a six-year-old, in the integration of her school in New Orleans in 1960.

    The thing that made her the most scared was she saw a black doll in a coffin.

    I liked the part when Ruby got to be in the classroom with white kids and some other black kids also.

    A: Ruby didn't eat her sandwiches and hid them instead, then Mrs. Henry felt bad that she wasn't eating her lunch and thought it was because Ruby was lonely.She then decided to eat lunch with Ruby instead of in the teacher's lounge.

    I think Ruby's story is really inspiring! This is a great
    book!
