Seaman, Meriwether Lewis's Newfoundland dog, describes Lewis and Clark's expedition, which he accompanied from St. Louis to the Pacific Ocean.

    Lewis found Seaman when he was looking for a dog to bring on the expedition he saw Seaman and the owner was telling Lewis all about how good his dog was for hunting and then the owner finally bribed Lewis to get his dog.

    A:Seaman needed the stiches on his leg because a beaver bit him. Then Lewis brought Seaman to shore because the beaver cut an artery, and it was extremely difficult to stop the bleeding. But eventually he stoped the blood and stiched up Seaman's leg. Seaman would be up and running in no time.
