28. Poppy and Rye (Avi)

When their home next to a brook is destroyed by beavers, a large family of golden mice is aided by Poppy the deer mouse and her grumpy porcupine friend, who in the process forges a relationship with the son he had abandoned.

    Q: Why did the Beavers want to build the dam on the mountain where the mice lived?
    A: The Beavers wanted to expand their dam.

    Q: How did the mice react when the Beavers came up to their house?
    A: They were surprised, shocked and scared.

    Why did clover not want the beavers to build a dam?
    He did not want them to build a dam because it would cause a flood.

    He dislikes that ragweed gets more attention than Rye.
